Google Docs is Google’s cloud-based word processor for creating and collaborating on documents. Connect your account once and the agent can draft, edit, and export documents directly, or generate them from data inside your project.

Why connect Google Docs

  • Turn a template into a finished document. Fill a Google Doc template with real data, like a client’s name and details, and export it as a polished PDF, ready to send.
  • Save content from your app straight to Docs. Build a tool where notes or generated content get saved as a formatted Google Doc automatically, with the link shown back in your app.
  • Edit documents from the chat. Draft a new doc, find-and-replace across one, or export it as a PDF without opening Google Docs.

What you need

  • A Google account with Google Docs. Sign in at docs.google.com if you don’t already have one.

Connect Google Docs to Macaly

Open Settings

Go to Settings → Integrations in your Macaly workspace.

Connect Google Docs

Find the Google Docs card in the list of apps and click the Connect button.

Authorize your account

A new window opens, where you’ll be asked to sign in to Google. Once you approve access, you’ll be redirected back to Macaly.

Use Google Docs from the chat

Once connected, describe what you want and the agent handles the rest. Turn a template into a document: 
I'm building a proposal generator. Fill a Google Doc template with
the client's details and export it as a PDF for download.
Save app content straight to Docs: 
Build a tool where I paste meeting notes and the agent saves them
as a formatted Google Doc, then shows the link in my dashboard.
Edit documents directly: 
Create a Google Doc called "Q3 Report" from this Markdown outline
and share the link with me.

Find my "Onboarding checklist" doc and replace every mention of
"v1" with "v2".

What the agent can do in Google Docs

Create documents from scratch, Markdown, or an existing copy, insert, replace, and find-and-replace text, add headers, footers, tables, and images, read and search your Docs by name, content, or date, and export any document as a PDF.

Good to know

  • You connect once. Every project in your workspace reuses the same Google Docs connection.
  • Edits apply to your real documents. The agent changes the actual Google Doc, so be specific about what to add or replace.
  • Your account, your control. The agent only acts when you ask it to. You can disconnect Google Docs anytime from Settings → Integrations.
