# Reddit

> Connect Reddit to your Macaly account

Reddit is a network of communities (subreddits) where people post, comment, and vote on content. Connect your account once and the agent can post and pull discussions directly, or bring live community activity into your project.

## Why connect Reddit

* **Show live community activity in your app.** Build a feed page that pulls hot posts from a subreddit, or a dashboard of your own community's latest posts and comments.
* **Research what your audience cares about.** Pull the top posts and comments from a subreddit relevant to your business to see what's trending right now.
* **Post and search from the chat.** Share a launch post, reply to a comment, or search Reddit without leaving Macaly.

## What you need

* A **Reddit account**. Create one for free at [reddit.com](https://reddit.com)

## Use Reddit from the chat

Once connected, describe what you want and the agent handles the rest.

Show community activity in your app:

```
Build a feed page that shows the hot posts from r/design and
refreshes when I reload.
```

Research what your audience cares about:

```
Pull the top 10 posts from r/webdev this week and summarize what
people are talking about.
```

Post and manage directly:

```
Post a link to our new launch in the r/SideProject subreddit with
the "Show & Tell" flair.
```

```
I'm building a community dashboard. Pull the latest posts and top
comments from our subreddit and show them in a list.
```

## What the agent can do in Reddit

Create and reply to posts and comments, edit or delete your own, fetch and search posts and subreddits, check a subreddit's rules and flairs before you post, and look up a user's profile and karma.

## Good to know

* **You connect once.** Every project in your workspace reuses the same Reddit connection.
* **Follow each subreddit's rules.** Subreddits set their own posting rules and flair requirements. The agent can check them before posting, but you're responsible for what gets posted.
* **Your account, your control.** The agent only acts when you ask it to. You can disconnect Reddit anytime from **Settings → Integrations**.
