# Google Drive

> Connect Google Drive to your Macaly account

Google Drive is Google's cloud storage service for files, folders, and documents. Connect your account once and the agent can work with your files directly, or let your project read from and write to Drive on its own.

## Why connect Google Drive

* **Let clients upload straight to your Drive.** Build a portal where each client drops files into their own Google Drive folder from their dashboard, no email attachments needed.
* **Turn a Drive folder into a file gallery.** Show the documents from a shared folder in your project, complete with download links, always in sync with what's in Drive.
* **Manage files from the chat.** Find a file, create a folder, or upload documents without opening Google Drive.

## What you need

* A **Google account** with Google Drive. Sign in at [drive.google.com](https://drive.google.com) if you don't already have one.

## Use Google Drive from the chat

Once connected, describe what you want and the agent handles the rest.

Let clients upload files to your Drive:

```
I'm building a client portal. Let each client upload files
straight to a folder in my Google Drive from their dashboard.
```

Turn a folder into a file gallery:

```
Build a file gallery that lists the documents from my "Marketing"
Google Drive folder with download links.
```

Manage files directly:

```
Find the "Q3 Report" in my Google Drive and download it as a PDF.
```

```
Create a "Client assets" folder in my Drive and upload these
three files into it.
```

## What the agent can do in Google Drive

Upload and download files, including from a URL, create and organize folders, move, copy, rename, and trash files, search by name, type, or content, manage sharing and permissions, and export Google Workspace docs to formats like PDF.

## Good to know

* **You connect once.** Every project in your workspace reuses the same Google Drive connection.
* **Sharing changes are real.** The agent can change who has access to your files, so be specific about what to share and with whom.
* **Your account, your control.** The agent only acts when you ask it to. You can disconnect Google Drive anytime from **Settings → Integrations**.
